Text-to-Speech Support for Knowledge Base Articles

We’ve added text-to-speech (TTS) playback to Knowledge Base articles in Synthetix Cloud, making it easier and more inclusive for users to access content in the way that suits them best.

What's new:

  • Read Aloud button on Knowledge Base article pages, allowing articles to be played back as audio.
  • Flexible TTS engine support, using Amazon Polly where available and falling back to the browser’s built-in text-to-speech when needed.
  • Playback controls for play, pause, and stop.
  • Improved listening experience, with playback that respects article structure such as headings and lists.

Accessibility:

This feature has been designed with accessibility in mind and meets WCAG standards, helping improve equality of access for users who prefer or require audio content.

If text-to-speech is unavailable in a user’s environment, the system will gracefully fall back without impacting the rest of the experience.
